SEALANTS - PIT & FISSURE

This is an easy, efficient, painless and economical procedure to prevent cavities in these areas.

The top surfaces of your teeth - where the chewing takes place - aren't smooth and flat. They are criss - crossed with tiny hills and valleys - called pits and fissures. These are places where plaque can build up. These are the areas where toothbrush and dental floss cannot reach easily. Some of the pits and fissures are so narrow that even a single bristle from your toothbrush can't get deep enough to clean them out.

This is an easy, efficient, painless and economical procedure to prevent cavities in these areas. The procedure involves, cleaning the area, treating or "etching" the area, applying bonding agent and then applying and curing the sealant. The entire procedure takes less than 5 minutes.
